I am such a fan of herbal remedies because they work. I also just love that they come from the earth, God’s creation. The more I learn about herbology, the more gratitude and awe I have for God and how masterfully He created plants for all our human ailments and conditions. If you are a Christian and nervous about trying herbs, check out this book, Health Through God’s Pharmacy.
Marigold is a sacred and prized flower native to Central and South America. Many women there are privy to the ancient wisdom of the healing properties of marigold and other native remedies which are passed down from generation to generation. I learned about the importance of marigolds directly from Dr. Rosita Arvigo, founder of the Arvigo Institute and master herbalist who lives in the middle of the rainforest in Belize. She is an amazing woman.
Marigold tea is great for fussy, colicky babies, fevers and tummy aches. It’s also great for healing trauma and big stressors, since it’s super calming to the nervous system.
Watch this quick video to see how I make marigold tea or check out the written directions below:
-Plant and grow some marigolds. They like full sun and well drained soil.
-Harvest when there are full blooms, 3-5 blooms are enough. I like to harvest on the full moon and I always say a prayer giving thanks to God for creating this plant to heal me and my family and giving thanks to the plant for giving it’s life in sacrifice to my greater health.
-Gently pull apart the petals and place them in a dehydrator, set at 90 degrees for 12 hours. You could also lay them outside or in a dry area in your house, but the leaves will take much longer to dry out this way.
-When they are really, really dry, take them out and store in a mason jar. You can rub them between your fingers to feel for any moisture.
-Boil some water and add one tablespoon of dried petals to one cup of boiling water and let it steep.
-Enjoy, feel better and be healed!
Dosage recommendations and different ways to take marigold tea herbal remedy:
-For older kids (4 years and up), drink like a normal tea, add honey, if you please. Several cups in a 24 hour period is great.
-For babies, put some in their bottle or a dropper full in their mouths. Give them 1 or 2 dropperfuls per 24 hours.
-Add several cups to a bath for older kids and adults for a nice soak. You can even add full fresh blooms to the bath.
-Freeze small portions of the tea in sandwich plastic bags or ice cube trays to always have some on hand.
-Or use the tea to make natural gummies. My friend, Mama Natural has a great gummy recipe tuturial on her site.
I am now selling herbal tinctures that I make myself as formulated by Dr. Rosita! Her herbs and formulas are the most powerful and effective herbal remedies I have ever come across. Click here for more info.
To make my herbal tinctures, I used herbs that were sustainably harvested on her rainforest farm and I enfused them with prayer, love, and healing light for 6 weeks before bottling them up. I originally intended to only sell them to my face-to-face clients, but I want to give everyone the opportunity to have some. So for now, the only way to order them is to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know what bottle you would like, your PayPal email address and shipping address, and I I’ll send them to you! Each bottle is $35, plus $2 for shipping.
