I am, at best, a reluctant crafter. The closest I usually get to crafting is a pinning frenzy on Pinterest. I don’t own a glue gun. I do have a bottle of Modge Podge I bought in 1998 for a project in my daughter’s nursery.
But we have an issue here at Casa Bolsa. We are buried under shells. And I’m on a purging streak. So the shells have to be transformed into loveliness, or move on out.
Since my Girl Wonder was 3-ish she has spent a week at the beach with my folks every summer. She and her Nana get up early and go seashell hunting. The same little spot on the Florida Gulf has given us buckets and buckets of memories.
It’s time to get my craft on, so I’m cruising for craft ideas. Something other than a Kleenex box cover. (Do they even still make those?!)
I loved how this one is like a 3D scrapbook. Seems pretty straightforward for a rookie like me.
Shell party lights anyone? I love these and think they would rock in the garden next summer. These guys crack me up. I could totally get on board with them. ( I digress, but have you ever watched Marcel The Shell? Happiness.)
Or perhaps we might create an extraordinary work of art like this. Actually, maybe the Girl Wonder and I are going to do some mother-daughter bonding and create our own shell picture.
Have you ever done anything crafty with shells? Suggestions welcome!
