Link Love is baaaaccck! Thanks so much for letting me take a break from posts in December so that I could regroup, and spend more time with my family.
I meant to start them back last Friday, but our beloved family dog, Sky had to be put down that day. I will post a goodbye post about it soon, but I am still reeling with grief about it.
On a lighter note, is it like pulling teeth to brush your daughter’s hair? It is a full on spectacle at our house and my daughter, Penelope has thin, pin-straight hair! She is very sensitive and gets over-stimulated easily, so I have go really slow and gentle to brush her hair, which is nearly impossible if she has big knots (from going as long as possible without brushing her hair!). I was just about to start looking for a great hair detangler brand when I came across this DIY homemade version. I will have to give it a try soon.
Loved this video of World War II women pilots. I had no idea! And I come from a long line of farmers and pilots and I have several flying lessons under my belt already! Can’t wait till the day I have my pilot’s license and can take my dad and Penelope out flying.
How amazingly awesome is thisThis video about an engineering toy for kids made me smile. My husband is an engineer and we joke/dream about how we want Penelope to go to Stanford so we can visit her in a cool locale. I could totally see Penelope doing something amazing like this one day. She will get her math and number brains from her Papa and her entrepreneurial/big picture idea brains from me.

What are y’all up to this weekend? It’s my 31st birthday! I am sort of a numerology nerd, so I am excited to be turning 31 on 1.13.13.
And I am super excited to be able to actually go out and celebrate my birthday, last year on my 30th, I was on bed rest.

About the hair: I have a 3 yr old too. I dread baths and hair brushing so much. She won’t let me touch her hair. Really pisses me off cuz I don’t understand why. She’s a girl. Shouldn’t she enjoy making her hair nice like the dolls?!? So annoyed with it I cut 10 inches off. It was to her butt and now is chin length. Saves me 15 mins every day.
Check out the Wet Brush. All the young girls on my son’s swim team have it and it’s even sold at my salon now. It gets all knots out in seconds. Brushes like magic. I even use it as my main brush.
I will have to check that out. We are already on like brush 4, but I have not heard of that one.
