My weight fluctuates 3 to 4 pounds through out the month, depending on what my diet has been like and where I am at in my cycle. If I am feeling a little puffy or flabby, I mix myself up a batch of this tea and I feel better the very next day.
This was inspired by a recipe I saw on Pinterest, but it was full of crap ingredients and extra sugar, so I wanted to see if I could experiment and figure out a recipe that lost the water weight, but didn’t have any extra sugar in it. I have been using this recipe for about 4 months now and it works like a charm every time.
Dandelion leaf is a natural diuretic that increases urine production by promoting the excretion of salts and water from the kidneys. Dandelion is loaded with trace minerals, potassium, iron and calcium. Dandelion is reputed historically to be an excellent liver tonic and blood purifier, and one of the best diuretics, complete with its own potassium source. It is reported also to regulate the gastro-in
inal system, and is a good cure for anemia and acne. It also has the reputation for lowering serum cholesterol and blood pressure, eliminating gas and acid indigestion, aiding in weight loss, and counteracting certain cancerous tumors.
Cranberry juice is also a diuretic, increases metabolism and is high in vitamin C.

This looks fabulous. Thanks for posting this! I’ll have to ask my OB next week if I can drink this. I am in my 5 month now and have a new found love/craving for black tea. I’m allowed a cup a day
Did you happen to find out if it was ok? I too am pregnant ad was wondering
Making the tea now! Thanks for the recipe!
Hi Stephanie!
I bought the dandelion tea today and plan to make it this evening. About how long does it last in the fridg if you make that much?
Thank you!!!

Several days. I have had in there as much as 5 days, it tastes best on 1 to 3 days. And it works best if you drink it all in one to two days too.
Thank you! I made it and just used it all up on day 3! Yummy! Can’t thank you enough for the great advice! xo
My pleasure!
How often do you drink the tea, every day or just when you feel bloated?
Usually just when I feel bloated. You could drink it every day if you want though.
Hi, This sounds wonderful. My question is when you drink this for a day for detox and water weight loss, are you fasting? Are you just drinking this tea?
Thanks!!!
Nope, I am eating like normal. But my normal is pretty healthy.
This tea looks great, and I had a major problem with water weight in my last pregnancy. I am still nursing my 18 month old 3-4 times a day, and I’m wondering if this is safe while nursing and pregnant. My initial reaction is that it would decrease milk supply since it is a diuretic… I would love to be able to drink something while pregnant next time to keep the water weight to a minimum…. guess I should ask my OB…
I think it would be ok, you probably would want to take it easy, not so much because it is a diuretic but because it is also detoxifying. And it’s ok to do simple detox while you are pregnant but you just want to go very slowly.
i was wondering if this would work with limes instead of lemons.
I am not sure! Try it and let mek now!
Stephanie I think the drink looks lovely and refreshing but a concern would be for people being treated with anti coagulants such as warfarin, there is an interaction that can cause the INR levels to rise and stop blood clotting

Hi Nanodee – thanks for the comment. This is a great opportunity to point out our policies page, that has a medical disclaimer so people know that we here at Mama and Baby Love are not dispensing medical advice and all readers should speak with their doctors before doing anything we suggest.
Do you drink the one batch over 2 days?
Thanks
Yes. Its usually about 3 glasses a day, sometimes if I want the one batch to last longer. I pour a glass half full with the tea and then fill it the rest of the way up with water and that makes it last longer.
Hi. I saw this on pintrest and it said it would help me lose weight. It said 3-4 pounds a week. Is that true?
It’s true for me!
What’s the recipe? I can’t find the info on how much water.
It’s in the post.
I never knew that Dandelion was in tea bags. Amazing. I suppose a Food Co-Op or Health Foods Store would carry this. I have at least 17 more pounds to lose…..I would like to lose more, but that is my short term goal.
