The other week I talked about how I use Skype to keep in touch with family that lives far away, but I also use Skype for work.
I use the chat feature to talk shop with other blogger friends and I use the video feature to have long distance meetings with contractors and other people I work with on a regular basis. I love how if I am on a video call I can also see screen shots of what the person is talking about so we can go through and edit something together.
Skype has turned out to be a very handy work tool for me as a blogger and work at home mom. I can only do a certain amount of meeting during the day when my daughter is at preschool, but with Skype, since I do 80% of my work at night after my daughter has gone to bed, I can schedule meetings for the evening. It’s often hard to find a babysitter or coordinate with my husband to leave the house for a meeting in the evening, but with Skype, there is no need to leave the house and my daughter stays peacefully sleeping upstairs.
It’s time to say more and stay human. It’s time for Skype.
