Link Love 6.29.12 and Giveaway!

Two filmmakers are trying to get funding for a documentary about the great and wonderful Ina May.  If you don’t know Ina May, she is the founding midwife at The Farm, a home birth advocate and pioneer, and author of the books Spiritual Midwifery and Ina May’s Guide To Childbirth (both are a must read if you are pregnant).  She is a national treasure.   I want to make sure that everything about this woman can be preserved and not forgotten.  Please consider donating to help get this film out to the public.

This blogger muses that perhaps her house needs a disclaimer, “a blanket apology to preempt the offenses that will befall you should you choose to be my friend and come over to my house for dinner or sleepovers.”  I love to read anything that pokes fun at motherhood and gives me a good laugh.

Love  this post from one of my favorite parenting bloggers.

This post has great tips for healthy travel snacks you can make at home for your kids.  I am trying really hard to eliminate as much grains as possible in my diet, so a lot of these snacks don’t work for me.  But if you are just starting to make the switch from store-bought to homemade snacks check these out.

So I was like, “Wait, there’s *another* documentary to be made about her?!” Then I clicked on the link. You might want to consider changing the “Please consider donating to help get this film made” (since it’s already made) bit.

  19. I LOVE Ina May and was so inspired by her book. I just gave birth to my son at a birth center and it was the most amazing experience (albeit quite intense and painful), but I feel like a different person now; like I can do ANYTHING! I looked at your link for the lotion and it looks amazing! The next time I need new product I will definitely shop there! Since you are such an advocate for women in business, I wanted to make sure you knew about Stella & Dot, which is an in-home/direct sales jewelry company (and handbags too). Being a stylist for them has changed my life and helped me to be home more with my kids. I wanted you to know about them because our CEO, Jessica Herrin, is a huge advocate for women in business and I wanted to make sure you knew about her! Love you and your blog :)
