Over the years I have taken a couple of Ayurvedic cooking and wellness courses and one of the coolest tips I learned was about Rose Water.
First of all, it smells good. I can’t stand wearing perfume, it gives me a headache and my husband Peter doesn’t like it either. Rose Water is the perfect middle road for me, it’s light and fresh with no overpowering chemicals.
But the best part is that it cools you off in the summer. My main Ayurvedic dosha is Pitta (more about doshas in a post coming soon!) and the heat of summer aggravates Pitta.
Do you ever notice that people are more irritable in the summer? Rose Water is perfect way to combat that irritation you feel from being too damn hot. If you are pregnant in the summer time, you need to buy this right now. You can thank me later!
All you do is spritz it on your chest and neck and you will instantly cool off. You could also spritz your wrists and the backs of your knees.
Rose Water also makes a great facial toner, you can spray some in a bath before getting in (or spray some on yourself if you are getting too hot from the bath) ,or you could use it as a room or fabric freshener. My couch smells like piss right now (gotta love potty training) so I have been spritzing my couch with rosewater.
Here’s to staying calm and cool this summer despite the heat!

Ok I’m soooo happy you of all people have a peed on couch, makes me feel better about mine. It’s dark green and hard to see the wee too so we’ve had a few family members sit in it… haha!
Yes, we have a peed on couch! We need a new couch so bad, ours is over 10 years old and a hot mess, but we are not gonna even think about a new one till Penelope has been potty trained for awhile.
Going along with rose water being a great facial toner, it is also wonderful for rosacea & will combat both redness as well as inflammation ; ) (I used to work as an esthetician and Phy.tomer is a moderately expensive brand that sells a rose water toner for waaaaaay to much money & it is made especially for sensitive/rosacea skin…)
Love this and may have to put it in the fridge.
Ps I laughed out loud with the couch comment
I am glad me sitting in a piss stained couch can at least give some good laughs!
