Disney! Link Love 6.1.12

How is it June!?!   May FLEW by.  I hope things get a little calmer and less rushed around here, although I am loving all the exciting things we did in May.

Katie the Wellness Mama interviewed me the other day.  We actually interviewed each other it was fun.  I really like that lady, here is her interview I did with her in case you missed it.

And I did my very first live cooking segment on a local news channel.  It was the absolute scariest thing I have ever done in my life, but it was a blast.  I did a very simple recipe, Caprese Salad, in hopes that it would make me less nervous.  I have three more segments to do this summer.   Each segment will feature a different local farm and local, in season ingredients.

I also have an article featured in the Rhythm of the Home Summer Edition.  It’s about my experience taking a placenta encapsulation workshop and more information about the benefits of consuming your placenta.  Here and here are my original blog posts about placentaphagia.

We had a pretty good time at Disney, I mean its hard not to have a good time there but when it was all said and done I think Penelope is still too young.  I loooved staying at the Dolphin hotel and having access to the ferry to get to the parks instead of having to drive and deal with paying for parking and the tram and finding your car and all that mess.  If you do go to Disney, I highly recommend staying there or one of the other hotels that has access to the ferry to get to and from parks.

Penelope really liked the character dinner we went to at the hotel.  Again, it was just such so much easier to just go down stairs and walk right in.  The food was pretty darn good, too.

Loved this idea to help keep ballet flats on and fitting right.

And can you believe this?  Apparently, moms in the military are not allowed to breastfeed in uniform.  I am shocked that on top of all the other things working moms have to deal with to be able to successfully breastfeed, moms in military have an extra obstacle.  Haven’t they sacrificed enough?

Hope you have a great weekend!  Penelope had a little end of the school year back yard pool party, so I will mostly be playing catch up and clean up.  Hoping to get a relaxing mani/pedi in there too, if I am lucky.
