Have you ever heard of Mercury Retrograde before? It’s a term astrologers use to describe when the planet Mercury is moving in reverse.
Mercury doesn’t physically start moving in reverse, of course. It’s an illusory planetary motion created by the orbital rotation of the earth with relation to other planets in our solar system. It’s a bit like travelling on the road watching another car beside you: when the other car slows down, or you speed up, it looks as though the other car is moving backwards.
It happens about three times a year and it is NOT the time to start a new business, launch a new product or get married.
So, I will be dang sure to launch my new ecookbook after Mercury is moving forward again!

Hey there, I just started following you with the birth of my second child. (Totally enjoying your perspective and articles) so since people did not really comment on Mercury Retrograde I thought I would chime in. I have been following it for the past 3 years. It is so true! I think of it as a time when your feet are stuck in mud. Life just does not flow, I look up the times of the year we are retrograde and get those dates in my calendar so I can remind my husband and family when they are making deals, buying electronics, etc. my husband bought his last laptop during retrograde. ( against my advice) he has had more trouble with it, major hard drive issues. Well he listens now. Thank you for writing about it!
Thanks so much for your comment and sharing your experience!

So, I think it’s pretty funny that the ad for this post is for orbit gum. I laughed out loud.
That is hysterical!
