Berkey Water Filters are some of the best on the market. I first heard about this brand over a year ago and have been wanting a filter every since.
GetBerkey.com was generous enough to send me a Big Berkey filter and one for a lucky Mama and Baby Love reader!
They come is 7 different sizes, Travel, Big, Royal, Imperial, Crown, Light, Light with LED base.
You can see the one I was sent in the picture above. I ended up putting it right next to my sink for filling ease. This size serves 1-4 people.
I was also sent their additional floride filter, which I was super excited about, because that was one of my main concerns, since fluoride is bad for you.
The Black Berkey filters used in the Big Berkey will reduce or remove pathogens, parasites, herbicides, pesticides, VOC’s, heavy metals, as well as bad tastes and odors.
We have a filter on our fridge, but it does not filter out nearly as much as the Berkey does. And I love that I can use my Big Berkey in an emergency. We lost everything when I was ten in Hurricane Andrew, we were without running water for over a month. Now, thanks to my Dad, my emergency kit is pretty extensive. My Berkey totally completes it…well, maybe I could use a solar oven. :)
It is hard to get used to going to a different place for my water, new habits are hard for me, so I still find myself over at my fridge and then have to stop and go to my Big Berkey. Other than that, I am really pleased with it!

This is very cool! I have done a lot of work over the past 2.5 years to make the change to organic and natural foods and REAL cooking and a water filter is one of the last things on my list of to do’s.
